G23

The G23 project

SITKA started its activity in 2003 as multimedia CDR magazine, which was presenting various art acts of many different people encouraged to show what they do. 2005 Sitka was nominated at EUROPRIX Top Talent Award in category Offline/DVD. Finally two issues came out but lots of material was collected to be reused in other events based on connecting sounds, pictures and words in different places. On 15th of May 2006 SITKA has activated its specific internet radio station RADIO*SITKA and is broadcasting its program ever since. At last SITKA has founded its own place in the backyard of CRK (where the former gallery Black Submarine was) and it’s running already as an association the project G23.It’s focused on actions-reactions in area of arts and other phenomena of contemporary culture expressed in diverse techniques and media.

The program includes e.g. exhibitions, variable projects in music, film, literature, history and architecture, publishing, discussion panels, meetings with artists, workshops, educational actions. G23 collects photo and video documentation from all the exhibitions and art events, as well as records the activity of Polish artists.

SITKA acts on non commerce base and without any financial support apart from its own and the funs commitments.
