Projekt genius loci to cykl fotografii powstałych w latach 2005-2007. Zdjęcia są próbą wizualnego uchwycenia “ducha miasta”. W zestawieniu fotografii kolorowej i czarno-białej chcemy oddać indywidualne wrażenia z miejskich podróży. Specyficzne emocje, rytmy, nastroje.
Nie zamierzamy dawać widzom jednoznacznego klucza interpretacji. Każdy prowadzony przez intuicje trafi na własne genius loci.

P.S. obraz to wystawa prezentująca trwający nieprzerwanie przez 9 miesięcy projekt sztuki poczty. 20 młodych artystów z różnych krajów przesyłało sobie autorskie kartki pocztowe, starając się odgadnąć zawarte w obrazach pierwotne, inicjujące wymianę hasło, przenosząc tym samym strukturę zabawy w ‘głuchy telefon’ w sferę sztuk plastycznych. Ten międzynarodowy / międzykulturowy dialog, rezygnował z kontaktu werbalnego, przesuwając ciężar dyskusji na język wizualny, przekraczając tym samym bariery językowe. Jednocześnie istotą projeku była właśnie komunikacja wraz z wszystkimi jej aspektami, także ujemnymi (dezinformacja, błędna interpretacja, zgubienie wątku, niedomówienie czy nieporozumienie).

P.S. obraz to również  bezpośrednie, pełne nostalgii nawiązanie do sztuki poczty, odwołanie do czasów papierowej korespondencji, sukcesywnie wypieranej obecnie przez media elektroniczne. Odtwarzając złożony, powolny, przepełniony żywym kontaktem rytuał towarzyszący wysyłaniu kartek pocztowych, projekt ten porzucał na moment anonimowość i zawrotne tempo współczesnego, zglobalizowanego świata.

P.S. picture is an exhibition documenting a nine-month-long mail art project. During this time 20 young artists from different countries sent one another postcards depicting their art works, trying to guess at the original message which initiated the exchange and by that transferring the game of Chinese whispers into a field of art. This international, cross-cultural dialogue relinquished verbal contact, relying wholly on the visual medium, and so transcending linguistic barriers. The concept of communication is key to the project, and this also includes its negative aspects (disinformation, misunderstanding, misinterpretation, obscurity, understatement, loss of thread).

P.S. picture, through its full of nostalgia reference to mail art, also harks back to the times of paper correspondence, slowly but surely driven out by electronic media. By recreating the complex, measured and informed by live-touch contact ritual of postcard communication, the project sheds for a while the anonymous, fast living of the modern world.

BROJEK- Beata Rojek is a student of the last year of studies on Academy of Fine Art. “It’s my second solo show. I called it “A few words about me” and it’s a kind of an answer to fear, which internet space raise in myself. And in some way the fear from/against the actual art market. It’s a test of manifestation of self-being somewhere in the world. One can say that these works are a commentary of reality – as far as I’m a part of this commentary and as far as I want and I can see it.

João e Camii are Camii e João. João Sousa and Kamil Radek met when they played in Amarcord, a jazz quintet formed by students of the music academy and musicians living in Wroclaw, a polish city with a geographical position that many consider perfect for culture clash. In this context, Joao and Kamil got together for some duo playing and found out that their interests were more than friendship chemistry. They could do music that could progress on its own using only guitar, drums and occasional accordion and vocals. And all this baring allways in mind the jazz alien references traced by Sun Ra, Don Cherry, Ellery Eskelin, among others, the rithmical abstractions of Autechre and the noise guitar dives that are derived from no-wave and avant-rock tradition.
